Anand Mahindra welcomes Elon Musk: ‘Looking forward to seeing you at the charging station’

On Tuesday, the Chairman of the Mhandra Anandra Mahindra Group expanded the scope of welcoming an audience in Elon Musk and Tysella after the official company entered India with the first experience center in Mumbai.

These observations came shortly after the opening of the Prime Minister of Maharashtra Devindra Fadenfis Center for Tesla Experience in the BKC Complex (BKC), its first official area in the country.
Speaking at this event, Fadadavis said: “We would like to see research, development and manufacturing taking place in India. I am sure that you will think about it at an appropriate stage. Think about Maharashtra as a partner on your journey.”
“Tesla is not just a auto company, all of it is about design, innovation and sustainability, which is why it is loved worldwide,” said Fadenfis, calling for Tesla more than just a cars brand. He recalled his first experience in the Tesla vehicle during a 2015 visit to the United States and said he was always hoping to see such a movement in India. “It took nearly 10 years, but we are very happy because you are finally here.”
The Prime Minister also indicated the state’s readiness to support electrical transportation. “We are also a manufacturing center. Our policies for charging infrastructure, promoting vehicles, and incentives for manufacturing are among the best. This is a good start and has the ability to transfer the market.”
According to industry experts, Tesla has already shipped it in the first batch of Y Yoli SUV, most likely from the China facility. The company also rented a warehouse 24,565 square feet in Lodha Logistics Park in Mumbai earlier this year.
However, the Minister of Heavy Industries in the Federation explained in June that Tesla is currently not interested in manufacturing vehicles in India, but focuses on creating sales and services infrastructure.
This step comes at a time when Tesla moves to weaken sales in major markets such as Europe and China. Only last week, the company obtained a commercial certificate from the Andheri Regional Transport Office (RTO), allowing it to display vehicles, conduct test engines, and start sales activities. Under the central car bases, trade certificates are mandatory for traders or manufacturers to operate unregistered vehicles for promotional or experimental purposes.
Tesla in India also reaches the background of global political and organizational talks. US president Donald Trump recently noted that he would be “fair” for the United States if Tesla was building a factory in India to overcome definitions.
In April of last year, Musk attributed the delay in his visit in India to Tesla global obligations, even when the company pressed the customs tariff privilege-in search of up to 70 % of EVS customs relief at a price of less than $ 40,000, and 100 % for high-end models.
Earlier this year, the Minister of Trade and Industry Piyush Goyal explained that India will not exceed politics for any one company, saying that the government’s EV framework is designed to attract a wide range of global manufacturers.
