Shubman Gill breaks silence on India’s home Test series defeat under Rishabh Pant
Indian National cricket team and ODI Captain Shubman Gill dropped some strong words on his official social media account after losing the Test series at home.
Team India, under the captaincy of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant, faced a humiliating 0-2 whitewash in the home Test series against the Temba Bavuma-led South African team.
Calm seas don’t teach you how to drive – Shubman Gill
The Proteas came to India well prepared for the Test series. They toured Pakistan for a series in all formats to adapt to the conditions and make the most of them with a clean sweep of India in a two-match Test series.

South Africa completely outclassed India in all three departments as they were better in batting, bowling and fielding.
In the first Test at Kolkata, where a poor pitch was laid, the Temba Bavuma-led side registered a 30-run win, and in the second Test match at Guwahati, where a brilliant run was achieved, the Proteas won by 408 runs.
It is worth noting that India was without the services of captain Shubman Gill for most days of the Test series against South Africa as he suffered a neck injury, and Rishabh Pant stood in as stand-in captain.
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill took to X to share a motivational message after the series loss and ensure they come back strong.
“Calm seas don’t teach you how to steer, it’s the storm that makes for steady hands. We will continue to believe in each other, fight for each other, and move forward – to rise stronger,” the Indian national cricket team captain wrote on X.

India must play all their matches in neutral stadiums to do well – Chris Srikanth
Although every former and current Indian cricketer was in complete disbelief after the Test series loss to South Africa, Kris Srikanth took the opportunity to make a sarcastic suggestion.
He said with great joy that the India national cricket team should start playing all their Test matches at neutral venues as they perform better away from home.
“I have a very nice (sarcastic) idea. India should play all their matches in neutral stadiums to do well. Play in England because they have performed well there. All the matches will be played in England, then India will do very well in Test cricket. There will be a full crowd too, and the Indians will be there to support and watch,” he said on his YouTube channel ‘Cheeky Cheeka’.
Even the players have to admit – Chris Srikanth
Chris Srikanth also said that the Indian batsmen were very poor as they could not handle the not-so-good South African bowlers and pointed out the reasons for the defeat.
“Even players have to give up. Forget winning, at least you can’t save the Test? The bowling attack was not so lethal that you couldn’t bowl for seven hours. This is a general fault in the system, in choosing the right XI, managing the pressure. If there is no system, application and process, what are you going to do? South Africa came with a vision, they came with a plan, and they executed it,” he said.
