Arshdeep Singh savagely trolls Gautam Gambhir with ‘wide-ball’ celebration after Dharamsala heroics

India’s left-arm pacer and India’s most successful T20I bowler, Arshdeep Singh, did not have the best of nights at home that day. Arshdeep lost control of Quinton de Kock and bowled the ball several times, which angered Gautam Gambhir. However, the ace bounced back in the next game and showed some amazing control.

India once again took the lead in the T20I series and bounced back in brilliant fashion. They have proven once again why they are the defending champions and the current best T20I team in the world.

After losing to South Africa, who scored over 200 runs in New Chandigarh on the batting track, the Indians turned the tables on another healthy bowling track in Dharamsala. The bowler showed some amazing lateral movement by the seamers, and wickets kept falling at regular intervals, hurting the Protea innings.

Arshdeep Singh bounced back in Dharamsala after the humiliation in New Chandigarh

India went from Cuttack to New Chandigarh triumphant and confident, but little did they know that the Proteas were ready and determined to make a comeback. The best part of this series in South Africa was their fending off. The T20 World Cup runner-up never gives up until the last minute.

Quinton de Kock was back to his best as he thrashed the Indian bowlers in New Chandigarh, which is often said to be one of the best batting tracks in India currently. Arshdeep Singh, the left-arm pacer who starts with the new ball for India, was also beaten for a run, but the most humiliating part came in the third over of his spell.

When De Kock was batting fluently, he was brought back into the attack in search of a wicket or at least to control the flow of runs. After being hit for six when bowled at the stumps, Arshdeep revised his strategy and targeted the wide line.

He wanted to excite the left-handed wicketkeeper, but in an attempt to do so, he kept bowling wide at the top, both wide outside off stump and around leg stump as well. This led to the longest bowling spell of his career. Arshdeep finished that game wicketlessly, giving away 54 runs in 4 overs, of which 10+ were extras.

Coming out of such a disastrous spell, India’s top T20I bowler had to bounce back, and so did he in Dharamsala. Arshdeep bowled the batter at an angle, provoking the outside edge on several occasions. His tight spells gave Harshit Rana a chance to bat at the other end.

After dismissing right-handers Reza Hendricks and Aiden Markram, Arshdeep finished with 2/13 in the 4th over of his spell, and India restricted the Proteas to a score of 117.

Arshdeep taunts Indian coach with ‘broad ball’ celebration after wicket in Dharamsala

During the previous match at Arshdeep Singh’s ground, when he lost control and his strategies failed as he kept playing wide balls, Indian coach Gautam Gambhir, widely known for his animated reactions, was seen agitated by the player’s cruelty.

He shouted from the hiding place and shot the driver a death glare. On the other hand, Arshdeep Singh is also known for having a quirky side, which he showed during the Asia Cup as well. After his economic spell and period of blistering control, Arshdeep Singh soon turned to mocking his coach.

After the wicket, as Arshdeep celebrated, he gestured with his arms to ‘broad’. While this has been classified as internet trolling, it can also be considered healthy and competitive behavior between a coach and his players.

Hardik Pandya became the third Indian bowler with more than 100 T20I wickets

In the game, almost everyone who bowled picked a wicket. Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was the third player to be used and he also made a crucial breakthrough in the game. He dismissed Tristan Stubbs and completed his 100th T20I wicket. Pandya is the third after Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah to break the feat.

Moreover, Varun Chakravarthy, on the other hand, bowled a brilliant spell of 2/11 in 4 overs and completed 50 T20I wickets for India. He is the second fastest player to achieve this feat in India, after Kuldeep Yadav who is the fastest in 30 matches.
