Autonomous driving company Waymo recalls 1,200 vehicles for software update

Waymo summoned approximately 1,200 driver cars due to software problems that are discovered and respond to chains, gates and other similar road barriers.

The independent driving company has already provided updated programs for automatic driving systems (ADS) in Waymo vehicles that were summoned 1,212 to treat the problem, all of which received the update by December 26, according to a summons report submitted on Monday to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

“Before the Waymo ads received the treatment described in this report, in some cases, because of the way the object was discovered or how Waymo ads responded to discovery, Waymo participated in the report,” Wimo said in the report.

NHTSA said that collisions with these types of barriers can increase the risk of infection. Any of the 16 incidents reported have led to any injuries, according to the report.

The summons comes almost A year after NHTSA, which was paid by incidents with things like gates and chains, launched a “initial rating” in the company’s ads. The company said in the summons report that Waymo had already had “progress” software updates when it started.

The update of the “largely installed” program reduces the chance of accidents that involve chains, gates and similar barriers, according to the recall report.

Waymo vehicles offer a driver without a driver in four cities-Phonix, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Austin-with Atlanta, Miami and Washington, DC, is scheduled to get its independent ride next year.
