“So sad to hear the news that this angel has gone to be with the Lord,” Knowles, 71, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, November 15. “My love goes out to her family, friends, and all the members of the beehive who knew and loved her. I remember the viral video of her expression at Coachella and all the photos I saw afterward.”
Knowles concluded, “I didn’t know her personally, but I’m truly saddened today by the loss of this beautiful young woman. My prayers are for her family.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️🌹🌹.”
Along with the message, Knowles shared a video tribute to Hardman, which included a clip of the fan at Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella concert. “Rest in heaven, Sydney – one of our beloved homes,” Knowles captioned the video.

Sydney’s family told the outlet they noticed a “difference in her mood” after her grandfather’s death. Her loved ones indicated that they were “still trying to figure out why she committed suicide.”
While reflecting on Sydney’s life, Jamie shared a message for other Beyoncé fans.
“You guys are young, you’re excited, you guys just haven’t hit the ground running,” Jimmy said. TMZ. “Lean on your village, Sydney was a huge village… Sometimes you just need to be vulnerable to the people around you so they can help you. Parents are here to support you. It’s okay to feel down, it’s normal, you haven’t gotten to the good part yet. Please keep going.”
Jimmy continued that Sydney “never meant to leave you. She loved you all. In her name, make sure you’re okay and get support when you need it.”
Sydney went viral in 2018 when she traveled with her brother and best friend to see Beyoncé perform at Coachella and had a shocked reaction to the singer’s set — a response that was later shown in the documentary Homecoming: A Beyoncé Film.
Recalling that moment during an interview with Buzzfeed in 2019, Sydney said: “I was expecting to see myself because I remember having the photographer in my face all the time, but I was so happy to show up because it meant Beyoncé knew my face was there.”
In the wake of Sydney’s death, a GoFundMe has been created to support her family.
“We are creating this fundraiser to honor Sydney’s memory. Donations will go toward minority scholarships and to the Redemption Foundation of Sydney which currently works to support mental health and suicide prevention initiatives for people of all ages and walks of life and that her legacy will live on forever,” the GoFundMe read. “Our dear friend and beloved family member, Sydney Hardman, has passed away unexpectedly, leaving us all sad. Sydney was one of those rare people who brought light and laughter everywhere she went, confident, funny, endlessly kind, and full of life. She was an amazing pilot, deeply educated, and passionate about everything she did.”
While honoring her legacy, the tribute noted that Sydney “made every day brighter for the people around her, whether it was her quick wit, her big heart, or the way she made everyone feel loved and seen.”
“Sydney means the world to so many people,” the GoFundMe read. “Her light, laughter and love will be with us forever. Thank you for helping us honor her and the amazing life she lived.”
