Bryan Johnson wants to start a new religion in which “the body is God”

I sat with Johnson at an event for people interested in a long life in Berkeley, California, in late April. We talked about the margin after lunch (a plastic plastic container meal for me; what seemed to be a plastic -chicken and vegetable box for him), and he sat with a flawless position, his neutral expression.

Then we must ensure the alignment of artificial intelligence while maintaining human existence. As if it was not for artificial intelligence, he would not do any of his activities and anti -death systems. “I am convinced that we are at an existential moment as a type,” says Johnson, who grew up in the Mormon. He says that the solution of aging will take decades – we will survive for a long time only if we make sure that artificial intelligence is in line with the survival of man.

Why create a new religion?

We are at this new stage where [because of advances in AI] We are trying to re -imagine what it means to be a human being. It requires imagination, creativity and openness, and this is great. Approving this conversation as a society, or a lifestyle, does not carry enough weight or strength. Religions have proven, over the past several thousand years, to be the most effective forms of organizing human efforts. It is just a tried and real methodology.

How can you establish a new religion?

It is a good question. If you look at history [examples]Buddha passed through his own self -process and reached a framework. Muhammad was a story. Jesus had a story of origin … you might say even Satoshi [Nakamoto, the mysterious creator of bitcoin] like [the founder of] Modern religion, [launched] With white paper. Adam Smith called capitalism with his book. The question is: What is the modern religion, and how does it convince it? It is an open question for me. i don’t know yet.
