Trump delays China tariffs until November as trade talks continue

president Donald Trump imposed a higher tariff in China until November, before the additional customs duties in effect on Tuesday.
An executive order was signed from the president on Monday, which will prevent the high definitions from entering against China for another three months – until November 9.
This extension comes after Treasury Secretary Scott Besent participated in the May negotiations with China in Geneva, which led to an agreement to temporarily alleviate a strict tariff imposed in April for a period of 90 days.

Specifically, the United States has agreed to reduce its tariff against Chinese imports from 145 % to 30 %, and China agreed to reduce customs duties against US imports from 125 % to 10 %.

But this temporary agreement ended on Tuesday, which means that the 145 % customs tariff were imposed in April as part of the so -called “liberation day” of Trump will be re -imposed again.

Earlier on Monday, Trump indicated that he had not yet decided whether he would restore the deadline, but he said that commercial negotiations with China were advancing well.
“We will see what is happening. We have dealt well with China … they have a huge tariff they pushed to the United States of America,” Trump told reporters. “We’ll see what is happening. They were dealing very well. The relationship is very good with President Shi and I.”

The two countries participated in commercial talks from Sweden at the end of July, and then issues of extending the potential tariffs looming on the horizon because there was no final answer.
Trump this month indicated that if the two countries can reach an agreement, he intends to meet the Chinese president before the end of the year.
