Camp Snap CS-8 Review: Simple Video Capture

Sudden CS-8 is not interested in tire rates or bit rates or whether your shots have settled at unstable stability levels. It does not want to replace your iPhone or compete with the camera setting without a mirror. Instead it offers is a much simpler and more simpler thing: the feeling of video shooting for it.

It is very similar to the CAMP Snap camera that is still standing from 2023 (the only main main product of the company), it is a bounce when you did not think about the cameras for you and when you don’t expect to review the images you have just taken until later-sometimes.

Inspired by Super 8 Camcorders presented in the 1960s, CS-8 is not confessing in both appearance and function. The body is mostly plastic, with details of Fu minerals and a leather texture aimed at provoking the mechanical age rather than convincingly imitating it. It is chunky and solid in the hand, although it is in a distinctive way. If you are looking for originality, you will not find it here: there are a cool, fake shoes and traditional nails at the gunfire base. But this is not the point – this is not the revival of Kodak at a value of $ 5,000 Super 8, but a 199 dollar camera aimed at living in the real world and wandering at parties, and wanders in back bags on daily trips, and is used without the second thinking.

Lights, camera and work

There is no screen, no operation, and there is no delete button. Here, what you shoot is what you get. Settings and options are stripped, with one disk to determine the percentage of the width to the height (4: 3, 16: 9, 1: 1, or 9:16) and another for the effect of the video. These include standard, monochromatic, three LO-Fi filters, including one that mimics the loud appearance, spam for the movie 8 mm.

I found that the last one, the analog name, was the star of the show. It drops the frame rate to 20 frames per second (it is 30 frames per second with other situations) and sprayed in digital scratches, leading to incomplete shots of the most deliberate way. The rest of the filters feel a little comparison, although the monochromatic setting can evoke its own charm in the right lighting.

Using CS-8 is refreshing: turn it on by getting rid of the phone call, press your eye on the rubber camera lens, and press the trigger for registration. There is no focus of anxiety here. Zoom 8X is dealt with with buttons called “W” and “T” for Wide and Telephoto, although only digital, and the accuracy decreases quickly when it is largely pushed.
