The accusations come about after a Campbell Soup executive made derogatory comments regarding the company’s customers and employees.
The CEO was secretly recorded during a meeting, according to a lawsuit filed in Wayne County Circuit Court in Michigan.
The lawsuit, filed by Robert Garza, a former Campbell Soup cybersecurity analyst, accuses Martin Paley, the company’s vice president and chief information security officer, of making offensive comments during a November 2024 meeting.
Garza recorded the conversation, which he said took place at the company’s headquarters in Camden, New Jersey, Local 4 News Detroit reported.

A voice purported to be Bally’s can be heard on the recording criticizing Campbell’s products and mocking its consumers.
The voice allegedly belonging to Bali can be heard saying: “We miss the poor. Who buys our products? I hardly buy Campbell’s products anymore.”
“GMO meat — I wouldn’t want to eat a piece of chicken that came from a 3D printer,” Paley says, downplaying the ingredients in Campbell’s soup.

He also allegedly made derogatory comments about Indian co-workers and, according to the filing, allegedly sometimes came to work under the influence of marijuana.
“F-king Indians don’t know af-king shit,” says the voice on the recording. “They couldn’t think for themselves.”
Garza, who started working for the soup giant in September 2024, told Local 4 News he initially kept the recording private but changed his mind and decided to report the comments to his supervisor.
The complaint states that Garza was terminated after approximately 20 days, and he accuses the company of maintaining a racially hostile work environment.
Garza’s attorney says his client was “genuinely standing up for others” and claims the termination was retaliatory.
A Campbell Soup Company spokesperson told the New York Post that Bally’s has been placed on temporary leave while an internal investigation is conducted.

“If these comments were made, they are unacceptable. They do not reflect our values and company culture,” the spokesperson said. “We are proud of the food we make, the people who make it, and the high-quality ingredients we use. The comments heard on the recording about our food are not only inaccurate, they are downright ridiculous.”
The company says it was not aware of the recording before filing the lawsuit.
Fox News Digital reached out to Campbell Soup Company for additional comment but did not immediately receive a response.
