Campus ctivists call for ‘mutual defense compact’ against Trump executive orders

A group of universities, many of which receive federal funding, can soon rebel against President Donald Trump’s executive orders that lead progressive initiatives in public education, if campus activists have their path.

Members of the Rutgers University Consultative Council recently acknowledged a decision to create “mutual defense pressure” to collect legal and political resources for member institutions in the Ten Grand Academic Alliance in opposing the Trump administration orders. The decision calls on President Rutgers Jonathan Holway to lead the effort and “play a pioneering role in holding the Great Academic and Legal Leadership Summit to start implementing this compact.”

One of the professor who spoke with Fox News Digital replaced him that “the left discovered freedom of expression.”

“These are the same people who punish other members of the university community for using the wrong pronouns of the so -called micro -collapsing,” Dr. Kevin John Williams, Professor of Cardiovascular Science at the University of Timbel, told Fox News Digital in an interview.

“They have banned conservative speakers and engaging in violence to prevent conservative speakers from coming to the campus, and they abolish the offers of potential applicants who were accepted based on someone who finds something they had done, perhaps when they were 11 or 12 years old,” Williams said. “I mean, they were completely evil and completely opposed any kind of freedom of expression.”

Williams was one of the professors who was entitled to the procedure – which has an official title to establish a group of mutual defense of the ten large academic alliance universities in defending academic freedom, institutional integrity, and research institution – was initially sent before the Senate at the University of Rutgers.

The decision states that “modern measures and escalation of political motives by government agencies constitute a major threat to the founding principles of American higher education, including the independence of university rule, safety of scientific research, and the protection of freedom of expression,” and the “Trump administration” and “Edans” have indicated the statements that play it with a sense of prejudice. Voices, and/or exerting inappropriate control over the academic investigation. “

The defense decision was formulated by the Big Ten, an organization consisting of more than ten universities at the Big Ten conference, which includes both public and private institutions. It is originally known as the Institutional Cooperation Committee, the coalition has been established to enhance research cooperation and joint resources.

“I don’t think they are hypocrites, I think they are liars,” Williams added. “I think what they do is that they are hiding behind the cloak of freedom of expression, which they do not believe in, to try to maintain their control of the university environment. It is a trick. It is a strategy, and we should not take them seriously when they say they are interested in freedom of expression, because they have proven that they definitely oppose freedom of expression.”

According to the proposal, the universities will contribute to the joint defense fund to provide immediate support for what they define are legal and political violations. It is not clear which universities in the ten adults may support the decision.

The decision will also be transferred to the leadership of all ten senior universities, their boards of directors and joint governance bodies, “while the President of Rutgers University” plays a pioneering role in holding the Big Academic and Legal Leadership Summit to start implementing this compact. “

“This is significantly a political party document,” said Williams, a colleague of the Conservative Medical Dawi Group. “This is a wide condemnation of the Trump administration. Now, by sure, through freedom of expression, they have the right to do so, but if they do so, they stop being non -party, and I will bring their exempt from taxes.”

Several Big Ten universities have received federal scholarships for research from agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Corporation and the Ministry of Energy.

The decision comes at a time when the Trump administration took a cash view of universities that receive federal funding. In March, the administration canceled $ 400 million in the University of Colombia’s federal scholarships, noting concerns about anti -Semitism on the campus after Hamas attacks on October 7 on Israel. This procedure was part of a broader initiative to examine elite universities due to the violations of alleged civil rights, especially towards Jewish students.

The administration also turned its focus on eliminating the initiatives of universities diversity, fairness and inclusion (Dei) to comply with Trump’s executive orders with the biological prohibition of women’s sports. The Ministry of Education has announced investigations in more than 50 colleges on alleged racial discrimination, and the challenges based on race and scholarships in February.

Trump also signed an executive significantly reduces the size of the Ministry of Education in March. While the administration operations are limited, they reserve the control of critical jobs such as financing the first address, Pell grants, student loans, and special education financing.
