Canada announces $21B in new US tariffs as trade war heats up

“We will not stand to some extent while our iconic steel industries and aluminum are unfairly targeted,” Leblanc added, according to CBC.

“We regret the unjustified US satisfaction with 25 % of steel and aluminum imports. The European Union will protect its consumers and companies,” the committee said in a statement. “We are launching counterfeit and proportional measures worth ($ 28 billion), and matching the economic impact of American definitions.”
