Capitalism beats socialism in popularity, Fox News survey finds

As the Democratic candidate in New York City, Zohran Mandani puts progressive plans at Trail Campaign, the National Fox News survey reveals that capitalism is still more popular than socialism. However, voters supports raising taxes on the wealthy.

Among other things, Mamdani, a democratic socialist who declares himself, promised to make New York City more expensive by imposing taxes on elite population.

Voters worldwide prefer to increase the government of wealthy taxes if this means that it will enhance the country’s social programs (73 % tax raising taxes to achieve this goal) and spread wealth on those less fortunate (64 %).

They are less likely to increase taxes on the wealthy “so that there is no very rich” (opposes 47 % compared to 52 %).

With varying degrees, most Democrats (89 %), Republicans (56 %) and independents (78 %) support the wealthy taxes to enhance social programs.

More than half of the Republicans oppose raising taxes on the wealthy to spread wealth and prevent any individual from becoming very good, as it supports most democratic and independent targets.

Mamdani favorable classifications at the underwater national level of 19 percent (18 % favorable compared to 37 % unsuccessful), with the largest share of voters, 44 %, and they never heard of it.

Those who are likely to look at Mamdani positively are very liberal (44 %) and Democratic men (34 %). Negative opinions are largely driven by Republicans (they are more likely to be aware of it), as more than half of them say they are not keen on it (54 % uncomfortable). Many Democrats (47 %) and more than half of the independents (55 %) have not heard of it.

Despite the appetite for the wealthy soaking, two -thirds (65 %) have an unfavorable vision of socialism. This is the highest registered in a handful of Fox News, which dates back to 2019.

The strongest supporter of socialism, such as Mamdani, very liberal (favorable 53 %, the only sub -group where support is more than 50 %) and Democratic men (41 %).

While capitalism is still common (twice the number of looks that are compared to socialism), its classification by 53 % decreased from 57 % in 2019.

The largest supporter of capitalism are Republican men (80 % favorable), voters between the ages of 65 years or more (74 %), those very conservative (71 %) and those who hold graduate degrees (70 %).

Doubts about capitalism are the highest between independents, women and voters of Spanish origin. However, each capitalist group of socialism is likely to prefer with two numbers.

The majority of voters under the age of 30 view each of the socialism (56 % unsuccessful) and capitalism (61 %) unsuccessful.

It was conducted from 6 to 9 September, 2025, under the supervision of Beacon Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R). The Fox News poll includes interviews with a sample of 1004 registered voters who were randomly chosen from a national voter file. The respondents spoke with direct interviews on the ground lines (119) and mobile phones (638) or completed the survey on the Internet after receiving the text (247). The results based on the full sample have a margin of sampling error from ± 3 percentage points. An error in taking samples for the results between the sub -groups is higher. In addition to the error of sampling, the formulation of questions and demand can affect the results. Weights are generally applied to the variables of age, race, education and the region to ensure that the population composition of the respondents represents the registered voter residents. Sources of developing weight goals include scanning American society, analyzing Fox News to voters and voter file data.
