Federal judge orders release of anti-Israel protester at Columbia

According to the court’s website, Mahdi was born in a refugee camp in the West Bank occupied by the Israeli and moved to the United States in 2014. He recently completed the courses in Colombia and was expected to graduate in May before the master’s degree program started there in the fall.
