Carson sworn in as national advisor for nutrition, health and housing at USDA

Dr. Ben Carson, a former neurosurgeon who held the position of Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development during the term of president Donald Trump on Wednesday to be a national consultant for nutrition, health and housing at the US Department of Agriculture.

“As a national consultant for nutrition, health and housing, Dr. Carson will advise President Trump and Secretary Rollins to feed policies, rural health care quality and access to housing,” as stated in a press release in the US Department of Agriculture.

“It will serve as a great voice for the Ministry in these matters, and joins Minister Rollins for her work in the Make America Committee again, and her partner closely with the leadership in the region of the rural development mission of the US Department of Agriculture.”

“Today, many Americans suffer from the effects of malnutrition. By making a sound policy, we have an opportunity to give our most vulnerable families the tools they need for prosperity,” Carson pointed out, according to the statement. “I am honored to work with Minister Rollins on these important initiatives to help achieve President Trump’s vision of America more healthier and stronger.”

Earlier this year, Trump signed an executive order to establish a religious freedom committee and took advantage of Carson to be vice president.

Speaking at the founding of the American Cornerstone Institute on Saturday, Trump announced that Carson would give the presidential medal for freedom, indicating that there will be a ceremony in the White House to honor him.

Then President George W. Bush Carson gave the presidential medal for freedom in 2008.

Carson, who founded the American Cornerstone Institute, “ensuring the presence of an organization fighting for the principles that led it throughout life, which makes this country great: faith, freedom, society, and life,” according to the ACI.
