JD Vance meets with Vatican officials about international conflicts, deportations

Vice Vice president JD Vance met the second Vatican official on Saturday in Rome, and the couple was “exchange of opinions” on international issues, including immigrants and deportation within the framework of the Trump administration.
A statement from the Vatican after the meeting said: “There was an exchange of opinions on the international situation, especially with regard to countries affected by war, political tensions and difficult humanitarian situations, with special attention to immigrants, refugees and prisoners.”
“Finally, hope for calm cooperation between the state and the Catholic Church in the United States, whose valuable service was recognized for the most vulnerable people.”
Vans, who turned to Catholicism in 2019, met with Cardinal Petro Parolin, the Vatican Minister of State, and Bishop Paul Gallagher, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“Discuss their common religious, and Catholic faith in the United States, the plight of persecuted Christian societies around the world and President Trump’s commitment to restore world peace,” said Fansal’s office.
Pope Francis has cut off his official meetings since a seizure with double pneumonia.
The Vatican clashed with the Trump administration about the batch of deportation, but the Apostolic Chair confirmed its good relations with the United States after the meeting.
The Vatican Vice President meeting on Saturday is part of an official trip to Italy and India.

Fans, with the second lady, Osha Vans and their young children, arrived in Rome on Friday, and contacted Italian Prime Minister Georgia Miloni.

The meeting came a day after President Trump met Meloni at the White House to discuss a commercial deal.

It is expected that Vice President Italy will leave for India, the second station of his journey, on Monday, when he will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
