Federal judge temporarily restricts DOGE access to Social Security data

On Thursday, a federal judge in Baltimore issued a preliminary order that restricts the Ministry of Governmental Efficiency to reach social security data.

The American boycott judge, Ellen Hollande, who is appointed by Obama, said that DOGE employees should have any of the non -march social security data they have received since January 20. They must also be prohibited from making any changes to the computer icon or programs used by the Social Security Administration, and they must remove any program or code that may be already installed, and their ends are from Diskan from this code.

Doga personnel does not allow access to the data that has been revised or stripped of anything that can be recognized personally, if they undergo training and background checks.

Hollande wrote in the ruling issued on Thursday night: “The goal of treating fraud, waste, mismanagement and fragmentation is worthy of praise, and it is assumed that the American public will live and support it.” “In fact, taxpayers have all the right to expect their government to make sure that their acquired money is difficult.”

The case was presented by a group of trade unions and retirees who claim that the recent Dog’s procedures violate the laws of privacy and provide tremendous security risks.

During a hearing in the Federal Court on Tuesday in Baltimore, Hollande has repeatedly asked the government’s lawyer why Dog needed “apparently restricted access” to the sensitive personal information group to detect social security fraud.

“What do we do need all this information?” Hollande said, asking if most of the data could be hidden.

Trump administration lawyers said that changing the operation will slow down their efforts.

“While the lack of disclosure of his identity is possible, he is very stressful,” the lawyer of the Ministry of Justice, Bradley Humphrez, told the court. He said that access to Doge does not deviate greatly from regular practices within the agency, as employees and auditors routinely are allowed to discuss their databases.

But the prosecutors’ lawyers described it as “changing the sea” in terms of how the agency is dealing with sensitive information.

Sky Periman, President and CEO of the democracy Group in the Legal Services Group, which is behind the lawsuit, said the ruling brought a “great comfort to millions of people who depend on the Social Security Administration to protect their personal and sensitive information.”

Holland explained that her request does not apply to SSA workers who do not belong to Doge, so they can still access any data they use in the context of normal work. She said that DOGE employees who want to access unknown data should first undergo training and background inspection required for other social security personnel.

Holland, 75, is the latest judge who thinks about a Doge case. Many of her inquiries focused on Tuesday on whether the social security issue varies greatly from the case of another Maryland that challenges Dog’s access to data in three other agencies: the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Treasury and the Personnel Management Office. In this case, the Court of Appeal recently prevented a preliminary order and wiped the road in front of Dog to get to the private data of individuals.

Holland’s order to the Court of Appeal in the Fourth American Chamber, which stood with the Trump administration in other cases, can also be resumed, including allowing Dog to the United States Agency for International Development and leaving executive orders against diversity, fairness and integration.
