Chelsea’s Facundo Buonanotte set to join Leeds

Chelsea are reportedly canceling Facundo Buonanotti’s loan from Brighton and he is set to undergo a medical before joining Leeds United instead.

Bonannotti was a surprise signing from Chelsea in the summer as he joined on loan from Brighton, but Fabrizio Romano now says he is ready to return to the Seagulls and start a fresh loan with Leeds for the second half of the season.

Romano posted: “Vaco Buonanotti will undergo a medical at Leeds United soon, as he has also been approved by Chelsea and Brighton. Exclusive story confirmed.”

Shortly before that, he also posted the following: “Exclusive: Leeds United reach a verbal agreement to sign Facundo Buonanotti! Facundo Buonanotte has failed to make an impact at Chelsea

Bonannotti has shown himself to be a promising player at Brighton, but it may still be a bit strange to see Chelsea sign him this season.

The 21-year-old could still have a bright future in the game, but he is clearly not at Chelsea level yet, and the Blues also appear to have come to that conclusion themselves.

Meanwhile, Leeds are likely to feel that this could be a good addition to their squad to help them stay in the Premier League in the second half of this season.
