The mayor of Chicago Brandon Johnson signed an executive order on Monday prohibiting federal immigration agents of the use of city owned property for immigration enforcement operations, as the Trump administration deploys the National Guard forces to Illinois.

Johnson created “ice-free areas”-in a reference to the enforcement of immigration and customs (ICE)-as part of the Chicago Protection Initiative, rejected the crime campaign Donald Trump and deported deportation in the city.

Johnson said during a press conference on Monday: “Today, we sign an executive order aimed at curbing the management of this administration outside of control,” Johnson said at a press conference on Monday. “The demand creates ice -free areas. This means that the property of the city and private companies is not unwilling to serve as the reasons for organizing these raids.”

While Chicago seeks to thwart the ICE deportation efforts, Johnson and Ilinoi, the governor of JB Pritzker litigate Monday, An attempt to prevent the Trump administration from deploying the National Guard forces to Illinois.

During his statements, Johnson accused the “extremist right” of refusing to accept the results of the civil war, when slavery was canceled.

“He has repeatedly called for a match, but in the coming weeks, we will take advantage of this opportunity to build greater resistance. Chicago is clear that the arrogance in our forces in our city as a justification to increase the escalation of the war in Chicago will not be tolerated.”

Johnson repeated during the press conference, “The right wing in this country wants to re -match the civil war.”

Johnson said Chicago “will not tolerate ice agents who violate our inhabitants” or “ignore” the Trump administration to the local authority.

Johnson said: “With this executive, Chicago stands firm in protecting the constitutional rights of our residents and migrant societies and supports our democracy,” Johnson said.

Johnson sent Chicago agencies and departments to determine the spaces during the next five days that were targeted during ice raids and published a clear message to federal immigration employees that the city owned property will not be used to enforce immigration, including as a starting area, processing location or operation base.

Johnson said: “If the federal government violates this executive matter, we will take them to the court,” and urged Trump to leave Chicago “alone.”

Pritzker, who has long been considered a potential candidate in 2028, said on Sunday that he refused to comply with the Trump administration’s “warning” to deploy the National Guard forces in Illinois, describing it as “very heinous and non -American.”

“We must start naming, this is what it is: Trump’s invasion,” said Pritzker.
