WIRED Talked to a Fired DOGE Staffer About Who Was Really in Charge

With Elon Musk And other leaders of the so-called government efficiency (DOGE) claim to be on their way out, WIRED spoke with a Doge employee who was launched about his experience, and how the group calls, which seems to be responsible-and may not come after that.

Earlier this week, Saahil Lavingia posted a post on his personal website, which shows his 55 -day details inside Doug. Lavingia, which was first identified as a member of Doge in the Ministry of Old Warriors Affairs (VA), is the CEO of Gumroad, a platform that helps creativity to sell their business.

In his position, Lavingia describes the types of projects that he worked on in the Ministry of Old Warriors Affairs and its comprehensive impressions of work with Dog. Lavingia has described DOGE as “unorganized”, with a little information that participates in different teams.

All of this may change soon, as Musk spent the past few weeks, saying that he will leave his duties to a large extent. It seems that two close to Lieutenant, Steve Davis and Nicole Holland, are also leaving. Davis, who had worked with Musk for years, including in X and CEO of Poring Company, was an integral part of Doug’s daily operations.

Lavaya says that without Davis on his head, it is not clear who will lead Dog – and in any direction.

“Stephen was the only person who was through everything,” he told Lavia Wire.

Musk, Davis and Hollander did not respond to WIRED requests for comment.

Lavingia Wire told Davis that he seemed to be the person who directs most of DOGE activities in different agencies, and was in direct contact with all DOGE members at different points. In general, in the Lavingia experience, these correspondences occurred using an encrypted messaging application signal.

Experts and legislators have previously warned that using a signal for official government communications can violate the laws that require government employees to maintain the records of all contacts. Earlier this year, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz by accidentally added The Atlantic Editor to a group of signs where Waltz and other Trump administration officials discussed imminent and sensitive military actions in Yemen.

Davis says, Lovia says, you will take a priority to those who were leading the Doug team in a specific agency. At the Ministry of Old Warriors Affairs, Lavingia Wire, Davis has ordered the DOGE team to determine the priorities of contracting contracts for cancellation. Davis will send a message to Lavia periodically to check how he works, but he rarely responds to Lavingia’s responses, he says.

According to Lanfia, in late March, Davis was present at a meeting with Musa, and called “E meeting”. Lavaya says that many of the workers of Duji who faced them at this meeting, and often appeared to carry out the tasks assigned to them by Davis.

Two others from Muskin, Anthony Armstrong and Paris Akis, attended at “E meeting”. These three men – Armstrong, Akis, and Davis – show that they are the officials, as Lavia says.

“Stephen is basically similar to the chief of staff or body man when there was Elon there,” he says.
