The opening match for the normal season will be an emotional game for Indianapolis Coles fans. On Friday, their late owner Jim Ersai was announced in the team’s honor, as the team is preparing to face Miami Dolphins at Lucas Oil Stadium on September 7.

“It will be a special day, I will be there. The team now needs to end the first week’s curse and win this Big Jim,” Coltsfanpo Tweet.

This announcement came on Friday as it could have been the IRSAI 66 birthday. Colts did not win the opening match of the usual season since 2013 on Oakland Raides (21-17). Irsay died in his sleep on May 21, 2025.

He took the position of owner from his late father, Robert, who bought the team in 1972 and died in 1997. Both Irsay will now be in the team’s honor episode.
