Costco CEO reports ‘very positive’ results from scan-and-go checkout tests

Costco tests the exit technique that hopes to accelerate the exit process, which is classified by members as one of their important concerns with warehouse retail stores.

CEO Ron Fashiris said last week during the company’s profit call in the third quarter that Costtec “participated in some tests” for scanning and clarification by “Costco”. ”

This technology was “very successful in transferring people across lines and accelerating transactions,” according to Costco Exec.

“We have seen some very early results that were very positive and a great dependence on our members, and we also saw it,” Fashris told analysts and investors.

Scan-and-GG is something that Costco fans have long said on social media that they want a retail seller to bring him to his stores, as some referred to the Walmart competitor by Sam’s Club.

At Sam’s Club, customers have the option to use “Scan & Go” – they wipe the items while shopping and paying them through an application with a worker who wipes the digital receipt at the door. The company has started offering technology that uses an artificial intelligence scanner to check the goods while leaving customers, eliminating the need to check the receipt at the door.

Meanwhile, the BJ’s Whilesale – who enables the members to “skip the line and examine the elements through the BJ application while shopping to make the exit faster,” according to its website. BJ customers who use “ExpressPay” pay in the application and show the delivery of the fast response code at the door.

Fox Business has arrived at Costco to comment on “Scan and Go” tests.

Fasheris said last week that Coststo “continues[s] To work on opportunities to improve membership experience, “inform analysts and investors that they” are looking for many new technology pilots that we focus on to help our members check through our front end at a faster pace. ”

When asked about “scanning and going” during the profit call of the previous company in December, he said that the company hears about technology from time to time.

At that time, he said that the self -examination “was a great choice for our members, and we focus on it” but the company “will continue in technology and make sure that we are playing our role to maintain the experience as much as possible for our members.”

As of late May, Costco 905 has had locations all over the world with more than 142.8 million members of membership cards shopping.
