It supports nearly two -thirds of Americans to increase participation in international affairs, according to a recent annual summer survey by the Ronald Reagan Foundation and Institute.
The survey, conducted by polling companies from Beacon Research and Shaw & Company, represented the third year in which the Ronald Reagan Institute conducted a summer survey that asks the Americans about their positions towards foreign policy. It found that 64 % of Americans prefer the United States a leadership role in international affairs, which has increased more than 20 % since 2023.
Unlike isolation, the Americans who tend towards international participation witnessed the increasing support in both parties-even the Maga Pavilion in the first American Party, which leads the road with 73 % support for greater international participation, according to the new survey. Meanwhile, 69 % of Republicans support the idea, as well as 65 % of Democrats.
The poll was released less than a day after the Trump administration ordered a huge surprise strike on Iranian nuclear sites in a move aimed at paralyzing the infrastructure of Iranian nuclear weapons. Nearly 73 % of the voters registered in a survey of Fox News News said they believe that Iran poses a real security threat to the United States

“The Americans do not retreat from the world,” the exporter of the poll mentioned. “They gather around a foreign policy based on peace through power, strong alliances and ethics in foreign policy.”
According to the summer survey, which was conducted in front of the recent Israeli air strikes on Iran, 45 % of those interrogated said they would support Israel, which are being targeted against Iranian nuclear facilities if diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran stumbled. Meanwhile, 37 % said they opposed Israeli air strikes, while 18 % said they were not sure.
Party affiliation, although it is less than a factor when the respondents in the survey in general were asked whether the United States should lead on the international stage, it seems that it plays a greater role in opinions about the participation related to Iran. Sixty percent of Republicans said they support Israeli air strikes, but this support fell to 35 % between independents and 32 % for Democrats.

Despite reporting the previous media that the Trump administration is open to allow Iran to continue its uranium enrichment program, which may allow the development of Iranian nuclear weapons, President Donald Trump has taken a strong position on this issue, saying repeatedly that it will not allow the country to develop any nuclear weapons. In addition to the positions related to the American leadership in global affairs around the world, the annual summer survey of the Ronald Reagan Institute also covers other questions related to foreign policy related to human rights, trade, defense spending and more.
One question sought to measure the appetite for “regional expansion”. President Donald Trump has repeatedly pointed out interest in gaining strategic assets such as Greenland and Panama, while he was likely to have control of the Gaza Strip amid continuous issues in the region with terrorism.

The poll found that 55 % of Americans supported the follow -up to the Panama Channel, while 47 % supported this step to get Greenland.
However, there is also a severe discrimination between Republicans and Democrats on this issue, with most Democrats and the majority of Republicans opposing in favor of regional expansion. When it comes to Gaza’s tape, only 33 % of the respondents indicated that they support this step, including 24 % of Democrats and 47 % of Republicans.
