Cuomo lands key labor union backing as comeback bid for NYC mayor heats up

Former New York Governor Andrew Como Supporting two strong labor unions is running to run for the country’s most populated municipality.

The former democratic ruler of three periods, who resigned amid multiple scandals in 2021, supported Monday by 32BJ Seiu working groups and a hotel and games deals council, which represents building service workers, hotel staff and casino.

The approvals, which are largely cleansed in New York City, will probably enhance the position of the leaders of the leaders in Komo in the preliminary elections of the Democratic Party’s municipality in June, where it runs to the besieged mayor Eric Adams from the city hall.

“ @32BJSEIU and NYHTC are the backbone of New York. They clean our buildings, run our hotels, take care of our societies, and maintain this city. Without a strong medium class, no city can survive – not to mention prosperity – and we are currently, we are about to lose,“ Warned Cuomo in a statement on social media.

He highlighted that “I fought for men and women from 32BJ and HTC for years – their faith in me is a huge batch of our campaign and I am proud to support them.”

The two veils, which are gathered more than 120,000 workers in their ranks, are the latest working groups to support Como.

The launch of the Como campaign on March 1, to a crowded field of competitors, has already moved. With more than two months, until the primaries on June 24, Cuomo is the clear candidate for voting and collecting donations in the race to nominate the democratic municipality. The Democratic Democratic Agency winner will be considered the overwhelming candidate in the November Mayor’s elections in New York City Solid City.

But now after losing the Mayor’s race in 2025, his competitors scream at the tremendous political luggage of the former ruler.

Komo spent the past four years in the fighting to clarify his name after 11 accusations of sexual harassment-which he repeatedly denied-forced his resignation as a ruler in August 2021. He was also under investigation because of his dealings with the government epidemic amid allegations, his administration had greatly reduced the deaths associated with natural materials.

The former ruler has repeatedly denied any violations.

The Adams poll numbers were drowned even before he accused him last year on five charges, which accused the mayor of bribery and fraud as part of the “long -term” scheme to take personal benefit from contacts with foreign officials.
