Darden Restaurants looks at potentially selling Bahama Breeze chain

Darden restaurants are studying the future of the Bahma Breeze series.

CEO Rick Cardinas told analysts and investors on Friday that the company “will consider Bahamas Breeze’s strategic alternatives”, such as selling the series or “converting restaurants to other Darden signs.”

Darden runs 28 Bahama Breeze Restaurant as of late May. Cardinas said during the profit call, the number of restaurants for the series shrinks to this level after Darden closed 15 sites during that month.

Cardinas explained that Darden made the “difficult decision” that 28 restaurants from Bahama Brez and his brand “are not a strategic priority for us” after this process and more review.

Darden Baahama Breeze restaurants in the 1990s. The series is famous for the food inspired by the Caribbean and tropical drinks.

While discussing the decision to consider the “strategic alternatives” of Bahama Breeze, the CEO of the Mother’s Siller Company also said that Darden “will not put much investment in Bahama Breeze.

He also said that Darden concluded that Bahama Breeze “no longer fulfills standards” for her brands on brands restaurants.

The announcement that Darden was studying the “strategic alternatives” of Bahama Breeze at a time when the Florida restaurant company has issued a headquarters with financial results in the fourth quarter.

Darden’s sales achieved $ 3.27 billion in the last quarter of the fiscal year 2025, an increase of 10.6 % over the same three months in the previous year. Meanwhile, its net profit reached $ 303.8 million.
