Delaware’s assisted suicide bill signed into law, making it the 11th state with such a statute

The governor of the state of Dilayer Matt Mayer, a democratic, signed a draft law on Tuesday that helped the doctor help doctors to some patients with medical diseases, on the pretext that the procedure revolves around “sympathy, dignity and respect for personal choice.”

The end of life options law, which enters into force next year, allows adults who were diagnosed with a diagnosis process with a peripheral disease and were given six months or less to live to request a prescription to self -management and end their lives.

Mayer said in the signing of the bill: “We admit today that even in the last moments of life, sympathy is concerned,” Mayer said in the signing of the bill. “Every religion must have the right to confront the last chapter in peace, dignity and control.”

“This signature today is related to alleviating suffering and giving families comfortable in knowing that their loved ones were able to transfer their own conditions, without unnecessary pain, and surrounded by the people who love them more than that,” continued.

Dilayer is now the eleventh mandate to allow medical aid in death, and join California, Colorado, Hawaii, Min, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Vermont and Washington. Washington, DC, also allows suicide with the help of doctors.

Mayer said: “Today, Delaware joins an increasing number of countries in realizing that the end of life decisions concern patients-and not politicians.” “This law revolves around sympathy, dignity and respect. It gives people who face suffering that cannot be imagined the ability to choose peace and comfort, surrounded by those who love them. After years of discussion, I am proud to sign HB 140 in the law.”

Many other countries, including Canada, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands, have also embarked on the so -called death in dignity.

The Legislative Council in Delaware rejected this measure by a small difference last year, but Mair pushed her to this session and passed last month. The ruler’s signing now ends with a decade of discussion on this case.

Under the new law, under the auspices of the Democratic Representative, Eric Morrison, patients who think about suicide with the help of the state with other options for care at the end of life must be presented, including sponsorship of comfort, pleasant care, pain control and pain control. The draft law requires two periods of waiting and a second medical opinion about the formation of the patient before they can obtain a prescription for deadly drugs.
