DOGE says fraudsters target Social Security’s phone support to steal benefits

Elon Musk and members of the Ministry of Government (DOGE) discussed the efforts made by poor actors to defraud social security in an interview on Thursday.

Musk and many of Doge members appeared on a “special report with Brett Bayer”, and they told host Brett Bayer that a large percentage of daily calls that social security fields are people trying to change the direct deposit destinations of Sharia fighters in an attempt to steal their benefits.

“On social security, one of the first things we learned is that they receive phone calls every day from people trying to change direct deposit information,” said Aram Mogadasi, Doge. “So when you want to change your bank account, you can contact a social guarantee. We have learned 40 % of the calls they receive from the fraudsters.”

“They steal the social security of the people, it is what is happening. They claim, they claim that they are retired and convince the social security person on the phone for change where the money flows. It is actually going to some fraudsters. This happens throughout the day, every day. Then someone does not receive his social guarantee, because it is because of everything that is due to the wreckage of fraud in the social security system.”

Bayer Musk asked about how some worried that Dog’s efforts could unintentionally lead to legitimate social security recipients who miss their benefits. “The group’s efforts would help ensure that they deserve the payments they deserve.

“In fact, what we do will help their benefits. The legitimate people, as a result of Doge’s work, will get more social security, and not less,” Musk said. “I want to confirm that: As a result of Duji’s work, the projects of the project will receive more money, not the money.”

The Social Security Administration (SSA) said earlier this month that it changes its policies so that the caller could not answer the identification of questions by phone before changing the direct deposit account because “it is no longer enough to prevent fraud.”

SSA says that if the beneficiary needs to change his bank account information in the social security system, they will either need to use a bilateral approval with the SSA “social security” service, or visit a local social security office to prove their identity.

The basic confidence funds for social security are exhausted in about a decade, and at a time when beneficiaries will face automatic benefits if no measures are taken to repair the program in the meantime.

Although it is unclear whether Dog’s efforts will delay this timeline useful, defrauding can help keep some of these money longer for current trends.
