Donald Trump will leave the Group of Seven in Canada early after issuing a blatant warning to evacuate Tehran, as the US president resisted the signing of a joint statement calling for the cancellation of the escalation of fighting in the Middle East.
Trump’s decision to abandon the US leadership allies gathered early in the wake of more Israeli strikes on the Iranian capital, including an attack on government broadcaster IRIB, which sparked fears that the war between the two countries could escalate.
“Maybe you see what I see and I must return as soon as possible,” Trump told reporters late on Monday. “I hope I can stay for tomorrow, but they understand. These are big things.”
The war in the Middle East was at the top of the agenda in the Group of Seven, but, where the leaders of the Group of Seven tried to formulate a joint statement calling for the abolition of the escalation in the war between Israel and Iran, which erupted last week, the United States was the main appetite.
A German government spokesman told reporters.
While the US president said he wanted to see a deal to stop the conflict, he did not rule out US participation in the war to support Israel.
Caroline Levit, a White House press secretary, wrote on X.
French President Emmanuel Macron said that Trump told the leaders of Group 7 that there are ongoing discussions to obtain a ceasefire between Iran and Israel.
Macron told reporters after the White House announced that Trump will leave the Group Summit: “Trump spoke a few minutes ago about the ongoing discussions, which is good,” Macron told reporters after the White House announced that Trump will leave the Group of Seven summit.
“An offer has already been made, mainly to a ceasefire and launch broader discussions.”
Iran said it would only agree to negotiate the end of the war with Israel and resume talks on its nuclear program if the Israeli forces stop the bombing campaign, according to diplomats.
The strike on the IRIB studio took place on Monday, when Israel continued to launch missile waves to Iran since its attack began early on Friday.
Iran has averaged by launching many missiles throughout Israel. Both sides have losses.
In a sign of increasing tensions, Trump posted earlier on Monday on the social truth: “Everyone should evacuate Tehran immediately!”
“Iran should have signed the” deal “that I told them to sign it. What a shame and the waste of human life. Simply, Iran could not be a nuclear weapon. I said that again and again! Trump wrote.
He later wrote a second job criticizing Taker Carlson, a Firebrand media host near Trump, who was arguing against more American participation on Israel.
“Someone please clarify the Cookie Carlson that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon!” books.
In recent days, the United States has built its presence in the Middle East, and has deployed additional military assets in the region.
On Monday, the Pentagon sent Nimitz Carrier Strike to the area “to maintain our defensive position and protect American individuals,” according to an American defense official.
The STRIKE group, which consists of the USS NIMITZ aircraft carrier and three destroyers accompanied by guides, was in the South China Sea, according to Marinvic, a ship tracking site.
US Defense Secretary, Beit Higseth, said he ordered the deployment of additional capabilities “to the field of central responsibility of the United States” during the weekend, according to his participation in X on Monday. Centcom is responsible for military operations throughout the Middle East.
The defense official added that the US Navy, under the leadership of US Europe, “also continues to perform operations in the eastern Mediterranean to support US national security targets.”
If Iran attacks the United States in any way, Trump has actually pledged to his social platform that “the full force and the power of the American armed forces will come down to you at the levels that have not been unprecedented before.”
