Elite Virginia public high school under discrimination probe by Trump admin

One of the most secondary schools in the country is again in the spotlight due to admission policies after the US Department of Education announced that it will launch an investigation.

This announcement comes after the state’s Republican Prosecutor, Jason Mayreis, found that his office found a reasonable reason after a multi -year achievement that determines that Thomas Jefferson Secondary School of Science and Technology (TJHSST), which is supervised by FCPS schools, runs a process of dealings against applicants in applicants.

“The Verfax County School Council explains that its intended results are to reduce the chances of American American students – and this is exactly what happened,” Mayaris said. “These students are not statistics. They are sons, daughters, neighbors, classmates, and Verginia, who deserve protection and equal opportunity under the law.”

The controversy began in 2020 when Tjhsst made changes to its admission policies to enhance the reasonable diversity. This was done by eliminating the fees for standardized tests and application fees for interested students, and implementing a comprehensive review process that is considered factors such as the social and economic situation and the geographical location, and regardless of a certain number of sites for students from each middle school in the province.

In response, parents filed a lawsuit against the province, claiming that the new admission policy was distinguished against Asian students. After that, a local federal court ruled in favor of the parents, but this ruling was subsequently canceled by the Federal Appeal Court.

The US Supreme Court in the United States eventually refused to hear the case, and was effectively called for the ruling of the Court of Appeal. Conservative judges Clarins Thomas and Samuel Alto opposed and warned against the potential effects that could have the ruling of the Court of Appeal for other admission policies in other schools throughout the country.

MIYARES has been fulfilled in TJHSST acceptance policies since 2023, and this week concluded that there is a reasonable reason to determine FCPS that was “discrimination against Asian American students”.

According to MIYARES, when TJHSST implemented the new admission policy for the first time, Asian American students made up more than 65 % of the school’s acceptable classes. But for only one year, the American -Asian acceptance has decreased 19 points.

“The internal communications confirm that this result was intended. The board of directors reviewed the proposal after the proposal so that it could ensure the” racist diversity “that the board of directors was after. “In the zero school admission game, achieving the preferred racist balance of the council means that fewer Asian American students will be accepted.”
