Kansas targets adult sites over lack of age requirements for access

Four claims of its kind in Kansas were filed on Monday, aiming to hold pornographic websites accountable for violating the state law, imposing adequate age identification systems. There are no federal laws that require pornographic sites to verify the user’s life.
The claims, which were submitted by the National Center for Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) and a law firm in Kansas on behalf of a young child and the child’s mother, is a pioneer. It is clear that this is the first time that the minor has sought to obtain legal treatment through the provisions of the state’s age improvement laws for pornographic sites, according to NCOSE General Adviser.
Kansas is among nearly 20 other states that have enacted the laws to identify pornographic sites.
Louisiana became the first in 2023.

“The Kansas Law also allows the right to private work, which means that individuals and organizations can provide cases against companies or websites,” Public Prosecutor Chris Cobash told Fox News Digital. Kobech filed the first lawsuit in Kansas in January against a pornographic site due to the lack of age identification mechanisms, which is an ongoing case.
“I think that the combination of the first procedure for my office followed by this special procedure indicates that the law operates as the legislative body means,” said Kobash.

NCOSE filed a lawsuit on behalf of a young child, his mother took many measures to ensure that her 14 -year -old child was not exposed to porn sites, but she later learned that her child is using an old laptop to reach the sites. Online algorithms and content operations from the parent companies of these sites, or from the sites working in the sites, have led the teenager to at least two sites, according to the initial complaints filed with NCOSE.
According to NCOSE, pornography is harmful to children because they disrupt the natural formation of sexual sexual functions and maturity. Studies have also shown links between pornography and sexual violence and a set of health and luxury issues.

“The parents believed in this case that they had done everything correctly,” said Benjamin Paul, General Adviser at NCOSE. “Not only is it enough to try to prevent children from reaching. It’s just a matter of access to children.
“They will find a way. Either the child adjacent to a child in school, or old, as you know, was thrown into the cabinet somewhere. Thus, unless these online platforms are already proven to verify age, and this boy … What happened to him and what happened to hundreds of thousands of others will only continue and follow worse.”
According to the lawsuit filed on Monday on behalf of the 14 -year -old, one of the four porn sites that are being prosecuted, and Chaturbate, apparently has a mechanism for stimulating age, but can be easily processed, and this does not satisfy the Kansas law.
Multi Media LLC, the parent company of Chaturbate, insisted that Fox News Digital “is fully compatible” with Kansas Law, describing the lawsuit against it “is completely baseless.”

“We also explained in a great detail to the prosecutor’s lawyer again in November, the company accurately achieved the claim and found that the individual was never able to display any explicit content on the company’s platform. The AGE gate was offered to the known platform exactly as expected, and the individual’s attempts to the media of Fox Digital, it was completely robbed at the level of Fox Digital.
The spokesman added: “The company is seriously responsible for its responsibility to ensure that the platform publishes only the materials created and displayed by adults.” “Since the law entered into force, the company presented the” Gate of Age “page to any visitor who arrives at the site from the IP address that was allocated in Kansas and was not previously verified as an adult, by asking the individual to provide a photo identifier issued by the government.”
The spokesperson added that Multi Media LLC intends to “search for penalties” against the plaintiff because of its “trivial complaint”, noting that when the company was first contacted about the claimant’s allegations in November, Multi Media LLC explained why its power was not basis.

But AG Kobach said that the lawsuit filed by the mother and son, along with the “friend” of the other unidentified family, shows that the state law is doing his work.
“I think the really important point, at least in my view, is that the laws work, and that companies are transferred to the task of marketing these materials in a way that the palace can get when there are technologies now to prevent this.”
The 14 -year -old and his mother, with the help of NCOSE and others, seek to obtain legal damage of at least 50,000 dollars for each of their four cases. They are also looking for actual damage, law fees, and any “more relief” that the court considers fair.
