Hudson River helicopter crash victims ID’d as Siemens executive and family

Siemes AG executives were identified from Spain, along with his wife and three children, that they are among the six victims who died when a helicopter fell in the Hudson River in New York City on Thursday.

The Bell 206 helicopter from Manhattan Hilbport took off at 2:59 pm, according to the FAA tracking program and a statement from the FAA. The plane flew south, before turning to the north along the coast line in Manhattan over the Hudson River.

At 3:08 pm, the helicopter arrived in the George Washington Bridge and then turned back to fly south along the coastal line in New Jersey. Soon after, the plane lost control and hit the water a few meters from the beach near Hobokeen.

There were no known harmful weather conditions that caused them to crash and water temperature in the Hudson River in the mid -1940s, according to Fox Weather.

The Army Engineers Corps announced before 10 pm that he rescued the helicopter.

Before the Hudson River crashed on Thursday, NTSB reported 211 helicopters in the past two years, 37 of which were fatal. Since 1965, 36 accidents occurred in nearby New York City, 11 of which were deadly.
