Philippines-US trade deal includes zero tariffs for America, Trump says

president Donald Trump announced on Tuesday a commercial deal with the Philippines.

The announcement on social media came shortly after Trump met the Philippine President Ferdinand Marcus Junior, in the Oval Office.

“President Ferdinand Marcus, from the Philippines, only leaves the White House, with all its many representatives. It was a beautiful visit, and we concluded our trade deal, where the Philippines walk in the market open with the United States, and zero tariffs,” Trump wrote in fact.

“The Philippines will pay a 19 % tariff. In addition, we will work together.” Trump added. “It was a great honor to be with the president. He is very respectful in his country, as it should be. He is also a very good and difficult negotiator. We have our warmer greetings for the wonderful people in the Philippines!”

During their meeting at the Oval Office, Trump and Marcus Junior were asked how the Philippines balancing its relationship with the United States and China. Trump indicated that he was invited to China by Chinese leader Xi Jinping, adding: “There is no objection if he is in line with China because we are consistent with China well.”

“We need to do this with our partners,” Marcus Junior added. “And again, our strongest partner has always been the United States. But of course we are. We are trying to form alliances and multilateral relationships,” added Marcus Junior.

One of the correspondents also asked whether China hosted it in the Philippines would be considered a “escalation” by China.

“We will have a very good relationship,” Trump said of the United States and the Philippines. “I know you have some problems with another president, your mistake was not. It was the president’s mistake, and the country may have been inclined to China. But we did it very quickly. But you know, did you tend to deal with China, but we are dealing with China.

Marcus Junior said that the American missiles came as part of the “update” of the Philippine Army.

“We certainly would like, any kind of military spending, we hope that is necessary, but that’s so. This is what we do,” said Marcus Junior. “The United States helps the Philippines in what we call the program of defense of self -reliance, which is to allow us to rely on the self and be able to bear our feet, whatever the circumstances that occur in the future, and this, and the reason that we all encouraged us, and more interaction with the United States, not only the United States.”
