Factbox-How Big Tech is faring against US antitrust lawsuits
Written by Judy Godoy
(Reuters) -An American lawsuit where Google Alphabet was requested on Tuesday to share research data with competitors, is just one of the main efforts made by the anti -monopoly port in the United States to challenge major technology companies about their domination.
Below are cases of anti -monopoly cases or investigations against some of the most valuable companies in the world: Google and Meta platforms in Alphabet, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft and Nvidia.
The tyrant online fights the US Department of Justice and state perpetrators on two fronts. In one case, a judge in Washington has spent that the company would have to share data with competitors to open competition in online search and prevent Google from concluding exclusive agreements that would prevent device makers from installing competing products on new devices. Google has already appointed a former Obama official to represent him in an appeal that could take years.
The judge spent, however, that Google will not have to sell the famous Chrome operating system and Android operating system.
Although Google is likely to get a re -compatibility with the judgment until the appeal ends, the search scene has already begun to shift, with Google dilution in a proactive manner with hardware makers and wireless transport companies, and Apple says it plans to add research options fed by artificial intelligence.
Meanwhile, Google is preparing for the September experience in Alexandria, Virginia, to determine whether it should sell part of the online advertising technology to make room for new expatriates in this field, as it was found that there are illegal monopolies. Google said it would resume.
Dead
The parent company on Facebook faced its monopoly anti -monopoly experience this year in the US Federal Trade Committee to relax on Meta acquisitions for precious assets Instagram and WhatsApp. The agency sought to show Meta strategically bought emerging applications that it saw as potential competitors on Facebook, partly through internal data such as 2008 email in which CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, “It is better to buy rather than compete.”
Mita said that the previous intentions of Zuckerberg are not related and the issue must be failed because it depends on the adaptive social media market that ignores Tiktok, the alphabet of YouTube and others.
The judge who oversees the case in Washington is unlikely to judge before late 2025.
Amazon
The giant online retail company fights FTC and government port in Seattle, where the agency filed a law against Amazon accused of using competition control tactics to maintain dominance between myths and online markets.
