Federal judge strikes down Arkansas social media law, governor files amendments

Days after a federal judge prevented the law to define a lifetime on social media in Arkansas, Republican Governor Sarah Hakabi Sanders presented legislation amending the law “currently stipulated in the court.”
Sanders signed a social media safety law, also known as Law 689, in law in 2023, according to a media statement. It takes the approval of the parents before Kasseron can create new social media accounts.
The American boycott judge, Timothy, announced. Broks is the rule of the western boycott of Arkansas on Monday, which Fox Business obtained, because, if it is implemented, it “will violate the rights of the first amendment to Arthoens, because it is a restriction based on the face to speech that is not allocated narrowly to serve a painful government interest.”
Judge Brocks also said it “will also violate the rights of legal procedures for prosecutors because they are unconstitutionally vague in violation of the fourteenth amendment.” Prosecutors are listed as Netchical, a commercial association that represents major online platforms such as Google, Meta, Pinterest, Reddit, X and YouTube, according to its website.

“This ruling protects Americans from having to deliver their biometric knowledge or statements only to access constitutionally protected speech online,” Chris Marshaz, Director of Law in Netchical, said in a statement to Arkansas’s lawyer. “He reaffirms that parents – not politicians or bureaucrats – must decide what is appropriate for their children.”
Two legislation from Sanders was announced on Wednesday, the Senate Bill 611 and the Senate Bell 612, according to Arkansas’s lawyer, “is a special right to the lawsuit for parents whose child committed suicide or is trying to commit suicide because of his exposure to toxic materials on social media on social media, allowing them to sue major technology companies sick in the State Court.”

In addition, the legislation explains the “definition of” social media “to expand the scope of protection to additional platforms, reduce the age of young users to 16, and prevents social media algorithms from targeting the palace, and adds a penalty for companies that do not comply. These new regulations will only apply to new account holders.

“Arkansas has led the nation in the field of conservative reforms to protect children via the Internet and this additional protection continues in this effort,” Sanders said in a statement. “Mothers and fathers whose children fell victim to major technology deserve the right to take action against these offensive companies – the Arkansas law must protect children so that they are not subject to toxic substances in the first place.”
