Ford leads sales gains in May as employee price cuts offset Trump’s tariffs… for now

The automobile companies, led by Ford (F), have witnessed significant gains in sales in May, as the price cuts and got rid of stocks have influenced the Trump Trump tariff. The question is how long they can maintain prices instead of commercial deals, which were far -reaching.

Ford reported that sales jumped by 16.3 % in May to less than 221 thousand units, and the best of May of the auto industry since 2019 and the third month in a row of sales gains. Truck sales increased by 16 % compared to a year ago, led by F-Series, Ranger Midsize Pickup, and MAVERICK Compact Pickup, which moved more than 15,000 units, a new sales record.

Ford hybrid sales jumped by 29 % to nearly 23,000 units, a new sales record as well. The only observation of the bottom was the F-150 Lightning EV, which saw a 42 % decrease in sales, leading to a 25 % decrease in Ford’s Ford sales.

The company’s SUV sales – which include Bonco, Bronco Sport, Explorer and Expered – have also witnessed great gains.

Ford has installed the Possibility Plan Plan, which has provided major discounts for all buyers from May 1, to a major impact. The car maker may have its share of the market from the GM (GM) and Stellantis (STLA), which chose not to use the alleged staff discount plans.

GM and Stellantis do not report monthly sales.

But Ford is now wandering in long-distance hiking prices on the famous Mobile, Mustang Mach-E, and Bronco Sport at $ 2000, as these models are made in Mexico and are subject to 25 % automatic tariffs, although USMCA-qualified cars can have the value of American parts that are declining.

The Korean Koreans (Hymtf) and KIA (000270.ks) also reported sales gains in May. Hyundai reported that sales increased by 8 % to 84,521 units, while KIA sales jumped by 5 % to 79,007 units.

Hyundai said that the SUVs such as Tuxon and Santa sales records in Wesad, as Kia herself demands for the SUVs for Teloride and Sportage, as well as the Mini Van and K4 Carnival.

Hyundai maintained its sales momentum by freezing until June 2 in response to customs tariffs and providing price discounts on some models. Kia reduced the price of EV9 SUVs by transporting production to its factory in Georgia.

Despite the gains registered by Ford, Kia and Hyundai, the problem remains that the definitions are still in place. Ford projects will make the customs tariffs full profits from EBIT by 1.5 billion dollars, while General Motors claims that its profits may decrease by $ 5 billion without alleviating efforts.
