‘Free trade zone between Europe, North America’: After Trump’s tariffs, Musk bats for transatlantic zero tariffs and labour flow

The billionaire technology, Elon Musk, has invited a free trade zone between the United States and Europe without any tariffs, amid the increasing political tensions. His remarks came during a conference hosted by the far -right league party in Italy, shortly after US President Donald Trump announced a 20 % tariff on European Union imports.
He said: “Ideally, Europe and the United States must move to zero position, which effectively creates a free trade zone between Europe and North America.”
Musk’s invitation to the zero and the open labor movement is compatible with its long belief in the free flow of innovation and talent. Despite tensions, his vision enhances a more integrated economic relationship between the United States and Europe. “This was definitely my advice to the president,” Musk stressed, which enhances his commitment to the idea.
The economic scene between the United States and Europe is currently tense due to Trump’s protective measures, but Musk proposals make a different view on potential cooperation.
In addition to his commercial proposals, Musk also expressed its support for more freedom of movement of workers between Europe and North America. “If people want to work in Europe or want to work in North America, they should be allowed to do this in my opinion,” he said, noting that he participated in this advice with President Trump. This position is somewhat contrary to the feelings of fighting immigration prevailing in many right -wing political circles.
Amid the escalation of commercial tensions, Italian Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgiti, a member of the league, urged the “escalation” in response to the American definitions. Giorgiti warned of the revenge measures that may lead to more economic turmoil. Meanwhile, the European Union aims to respond to the US tariff “in a calm way, carefully and uniformly,” said European Union Trade President Marus Sivkovic.
The growing political participation in Musk is clear in its support for the right -wing European parties such as the Italian League and AFD in Germany. His appearance in the league conference is a reflection of his high approach to extremist right -wing European policy, as well as his role in President Trump’s administration as head of the Ministry of government efficiency.
During the conference, Musk criticized the European Union regulations, describing it as exhausting and unhelpful. He warned of the “risks of monitoring and mass migration”, in harmony with some of President Trump’s opinions on these issues. Musk’s support for local policies of Trump is accompanied by his support for forms such as Salvini, which enhances his relations with the conservative bloc in Italy.
