A downbeat Lewis Hamilton declares ‘Ferrari’ won’t be at the front’ in the F1 Austrian GP after upgrades disappoint

Luis Hamilton Luis Hamilton faced the media after the first day of running in the Austrian Grand Prix F1 and announced that Ferrari would not be at the forefront this week after the promotions had an overwhelming impact.
The 2025 F1 season was a disappointing season for Ferrari in general, as the team did not rise to pre -season expectations. The team almost won the championship last season and clouded McLaren to the last race of the year. This year, however, the concept change was the team’s curse.
The car that was among the perennial candidates cannot compete and won multiple races in the lead this season. Throughout this time, the pressure appears to be escalating on Ferry Ferrari coach Farid. At the end of this week, the team brought promotions, and the expectation would have some positive impact.
After running in FP1 and FP2, Lewis Hamilton does not think that. By the end of the day, Luis Hamilton was nearly a second behind the best Lando Norris, while Charles Licerk was 6 tenths.
The fact that these are the gaps in the bosom of 65 seconds worrying, and speaking to F1TV, Luis Hamilton announced that Ferrari will not be at the forefront this week. He said ,
“Not amazing. We have faced a morning problem with the gearbox, which was clearly difficult, frustrating to everyone in the garage, it is clear that the boys did a great job, they continued to lead it. But you are going out, you can only do one roll, so we didn’t get the long term.”
He added,
“But I think we have recovered well with this, they have done a great job changed the gearbox and made us ready for FP2. Charles was six years old, and I was close to a second, so it’s not perfect. But I think there is a lot of learning, so I think we will make some changes. I hope we are trying to get close. We will not be at the forefront.”
Lewis Hamilton: The car is actually don’t feel bad
After struggling with the FP1 gearbox problems, Lewis Hamilton was smoother in FP2. However, he had no pace to keep up with his teammate or record time from Lando Norris. The British was three tenths of Leclerc time and about a second off the standards of Norris.
Speaking to the media, the driver said that the car does not feel bad in this way, but it’s slowly. He said ,
“A great deal of work continued to bring the land, but as you see, it did not necessarily change our competitiveness. The car is in fact not to feel bad, we are just a large piece of abundance, so we need to look at this and this is really.”
He added,
“We continue to pay, just try to contact the car and see what we can get, but it is clear that it is very close in the top ten so that the tenth can make a change, so we will try to win it at least all night.”
It will be interesting to know if Ferrari can spend time over the car overnight and bring some changes that help improve performance on Saturday.
