Google’s research on quantum error correction

Quantum computers have the possibility of a revolution in the discovery of drugs and the design of basic substances and physics – that is, if we can make them work reliably.

Some of the problems, which will take billions of traditional computer to solve them, will take only a quantitative computer. However, these new processors are more vulnerable to noise than traditional processors. If we want to make computers more reliable, especially on a large scale, we need to determine these errors and correct them accurately.

In a paper published today in nature, we offer Alphaqubit, a unit of decoding based on artificial intelligence that defines quantum computing errors with modern accuracy. Collect this cooperative work between Google DeepMind and Google Quantum AI’s error correction experience to accelerate the progress of the construction of a trusted quantum computer.

Determination of errors is a decisive step towards making quantum computers able to make long accounts on a large scale, and open doors on scientific breakthroughs and many new areas of discovery.
