GOP senators back Trump’s DC crime crackdown as president eyes longer control

President Donald Trump indicated that a Congress may extend his seizure of Washington, DC, the police, and some Republicans in Congress, prove this invitation.
Senator Roger Marshall, R. Kan, said he would vote to expand Trump’s authority but did not believe that Democrats in the Senate would flourish and support the president more time.

This ruling allows the president to effectively give the local police for a period of up to 30 days, unless Congress, through a joint decision, is given an extension.
