Elon Musk’s Chatbot Grok is known for many things: racism, anti-Semitism, and pedophilia, to name a few. It appears that the addition to this list is tantamount to doxxing — yes, seriously, after an AI system appeared to reveal the exact home address of internet personality Dave Portnoy.

Over the weekend, the Barstool Sports founder posted a photo of the front lawn of his Florida home, which was mockingly vandalized as part of his ongoing beef with Ohio State University football coach Ryan Day. The photo did not have a title, but it did include a quick look at Portnoy’s walrus mailbox, as well as some landscape features.

“Whoever vandalized my house is lucky because Miss Peaches is too cute to bite,” Portnoy wrote, referring to his adopted dog. “Competition gives. Competition takes away.”

It was all in good fun. But when a user tagged Grok and asked, “Where is this?? I love the mailbox,” the chatbot was more than happy to oblige.

“This is Dave Portnoy’s house at ***** ******** ******* in **********, Florida,” Grok replied on November 29. “The manatee mailbox fits the Keys vibe perfectly!”

Screenshot of a conversation on X. asks a poster "@Grok, where is this located? I love the mailbox." Chatbot Grok responds by saying: "This is Dave Portnoy's house [redacted]Florida. The Manatee Mailbox fits the Keys vibe perfectly!"

At the time of writing, Grok’s post is still up. If X’s viewing metrics are to be believed, more than 1.3 million people have watched it so far.

Portnoy did not respond to our request for comment, although a side-by-side view of the address Grok provided on Google Streetview appears to show the same yard that was uploaded to social media. Report via Wall Street Journal On Portnoy’s recently purchased $28 million mansion in Florida also confirms the city.

Depending on who you ask, Portnoy isn’t exactly a likable character. He has been the target of criticism for his statements about race, women, labor unions and sexual assault years ago. Sports reporters who covered Portnoy or his company, Barstool Sports, have been victims of vicious online harassment, and in some cases have found themselves targeted.

So, although no one deserves to have their address leaked online, one thing is for sure The degree of sarcasm at play. Given Portnoy’s knack for generating high-profile controversy, one might think that Grok — regardless of how he got his title — would take more caution no To blast it to fans online.

There’s also a possibility that this isn’t the Barstool founder’s home, in which case Grok just shared a random address to what appears to be millions of people while claiming it’s Dave Portnoy’s home. Either way, the chatbot deployment is astonishing — and vindication for anyone who criticized Musk for bypassing Grok’s security features.
