H-1B visas: White House tries to clear confusion after panic throws corporate America into chaos

President Donald Trump’s fees were sold for $ 100,000 for H-1B visas for a comprehensive and panic between American higher companies overnight, forcing the White House to clarify the requirements.

On Saturday, journalist Caroline Levitte moved to X to explain the visa holders on which the fees apply and when.

“These are not annual fees,” she said. “It is one time fee that only applies to the petition.”

Levitte added that the current H-1B holders outside the United States will not be imposed on $ 100,000 to return, and that they can continue to leave and return as they do now.

She explained that the new Trump H-1B policy also applies to new visas, not the renovations of the current bearers, noting that it will move in the next lottery course.

On Friday, Trump signed an announcement that imposes a $ 100,000 fee for H-1B visas and announced a $ 1 million “gold card” visa that could serve as a road for rich investors to earn American citizenship.

At that time, the Minister of Commerce Howard Lottennik suggested on Friday that the fees, which start at 12:01 am on Sunday, will be annual.

When asked if the policy applies to current holders, he answered that companies that have H-1B employees should ask, “Is the person of value enough to get a batch of $ 100,000 annually to the government? Or should they go home and go to American employment?”

This has caused technology giants, which rely heavily on H-1BS, to warn employees of these foreign travel visas.

Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon and others have been informed of the affected employees to return to the United States on Saturday and cancel any plans to leave the United States

A message from Microsoft said, according to Bloomberg: “Although we do not have all the answers at the present time, we ask you to give priority to the above recommendations.”

Banks Top Banks JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs sent similar messages to employees on H-1B visas, according to Financial times.

The H-1B visas were previously divided in the Trump circle. Late last year, before he fell with the president, Elon Musk called for more skilled workers as he and his colleague in entrepreneurship Vivic Ramasuami did. But Maga Hardliners called on American companies to employ more American workers.

In response to a post that mocks H-1BS, South Africa’s musk returned sharply.

He wrote in December: “The reason I am in America along with many critical people who built Spacex and Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong because of H1B,” he wrote in December. “Take a big step back and F -K in your face. I will go to war on this issue that you cannot understand.”
