IRS cutting its workforce by 25%, eliminating agency’s civil rights office

The IRS service will cut its operating power by at least 25 % on Friday with the demobilization of workers as the Trump administration continues to reduce the size of the federal government.
In addition to the demobilization of the workers, the agency said in a letter to the employees that it eliminates the Civil Rights and Compliance Office, and is responsible for protecting taxpayers from discrimination, scrutiny and investigations.
The remaining employees in the department will be transferred to other departments.
“In a blatant contradiction with the previous administration plan that is unpopular to employ thousands of additional tax department agents, president Trump focuses on providing tax dollars, eliminating bloating, and DEI’s unexpected offices and increasing the efficiency of the agency,” said White House spokesman Liz Huston for the digital number in Fox.

“This action is taken to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Tax Authority in accordance with the agency’s priorities and the initiative to improve the workforce shown in a modern executive order,” the letter said, referring to the executive order for President Donald Trump, who directs government efficiency management to get rid of waste spending.
The agency said that the volunteer early retirement body (VERA) was approved and the volunteer incentives (VSIP) was paid. The letter said that information about these programs will be shared with employees at a later time.

“This evaluation year so far, approximately 5 % of this office has been left through the deferred resignation and attrition program,” the letter said. “An additional 75 % of the office will be reduced by RIF (strength reduction).”
A spokesman for the Treasury told Fox News Digital.
The spokesman said: “The roll of the high employment of the Biden era, and the unification of critical support functions is vital to improving the efficiency and quality of the service.” “The secretary is committed to ensuring efficiency with the provision of groups, privacy and customer service that the American people deserve.”
The workers were expected to be demobilized, and the agency announced in February its intention to reduce nearly 7,000 test workers in Washington, DC.
