Hegseth looks to reform DoD complaint processes to ’empower leaders to make tough decisions’

Defense Minister Beit Higseth signed a memorandum on Friday, calling for a review of equal military opportunities and civil job opportunities in the Ministry of Defense. The trustees of each military administration, according to the memorandum, are required to evaluate the programs in force in their sections.
In a video posted on the X announcement of the memo, Higseth said that although it is “good” that the army has multiple means of service members and civilians on both complaints of harassment and discrimination, the systems were “armed” and used “in poor intention of revenge against presidents or peers.”

The official title of the millions is “the restoration of the good system and discipline through balanced accountability,” but Higseth says it calls it “no more walking on eggshell.”
“So, this is the goal: to enable leaders to make difficult decisions, impose standards, and restore order and good discipline,” Higseth said in the video.
The memorandum directed the trustees to ensure that the complaints that “are unfounded through implemented and reliable evidence are rejected in time.” In addition, “favorable procedures”, such as prizes and promotions, which involve the alleged perpetrator must be considered until the complaint is proven. Finally, the memo states that those who “submit false complaints” intentionally “may face discipline.
The trustees have 45 days to complete their reviews.
Higseth is not strange to the controversy and has faced many allegations since it was used to lead the Ministry of Defense. It is not an extended to imagine that he may have sympathy for those who face false or baseless allegations.

Defense Minister Beit Higseth rejects the allegations of the new group chat as an attempt to sabotage “Trump’s agenda
Before confirming, Higseth faced allegations of sexual misconduct, alcohol use and mismanagement of old warriors organizations. This included a written testimony by his ex -sister, who claimed that Higseth was a physical abuse of his ex -wife, Samantha “Sam” Higseth. However, Sam denied allegations, saying that she did not suffer from physical abuse during her marriage to Higseth.
Higseth told legislators during his confirmation session that he is not “an ideal person”, but he stressed that he was the subject of the “Coordinator of an Organization Essential Campaign in the media.”
In addition, since he became the Minister of Defense, Higseth has participated in scandals about the signal of the encrypted messaging application.
The first scandal occurred when the Atlantic Jeffrey Goldberg was added to a signal conversation there were discussions about the US plans to strike Yemen. While National Security Adviser Mike Valz took a lot of heat for the situation, Higseth was not criticism. In the end, the Trump administration insisted that the discussions in the group had not already included “war plans”.

On Sunday, Higseth was accused of sharing military information in the chat group chat that included his wife, brother and personal lawyer. The New York Times reported that people who have knowledge of the situation said that the information “included the flight schedules of the F/18 Hornets targeting the Houthis in Yemen.”
“Fox & Friends” told the allegations that the allegations were aimed at “sabotaging” president Donald Trump’s agenda.

Although the article that indicates that Higseth can be on its way out, the White House stood behind it.
“It brings the huge change to the Pentagon, and there are many people in the city who reject the huge change, and I believe, frankly, for this reason we saw a smudging campaign against the Minister of Defense from the moment when President Trump announced his candidacy before the Senate in the United States,” said Secretary at home.
