Higher pension: EPFO directs field formations to not arbitrarily reject applications

With the rejection of the number of “exceptional rise” of requests for high pensions, the Personnel Fund Foundation has now directed the field formations that rejection should be based on “large and justified” reasons, and applicants must be given the opportunity to justify the slight shortcomings in their shows.
The Ministry of Labor and Employment also said that all cases of rejection must be reviewed by a specialized team of legal accountants who were distinguished in light of the financial observer and general references of India. Moreover, the EPFO must also publish their scrutiny teams to examine refusal cases, especially those that are subject to litigation.
The strict guidance comes from EPFO after it was overwhelmed by many complaints about the rejection of high pension requests. Sunkari Mallesham, National Vice president, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sang and member of the EPFO Central Council to EPFO to the Provadent Central Fund Commissioner on this issue.
He said: “There are several cases of arbitrary rejection of applications. We have written to CPFC highlighting this issue and they have now taken action.”
For example, in the case of NTPC, which has the same confidence exempt from PF, while some requests were addressed, others were rejected. “All applications must be processed or all should be rejected. It cannot be done on an arbitrary basis,” adding that there were many cases due to some deficiency, requests were rejected. In some cases, employers are required to provide records as EPFO must have a protected engine and registry service, as confirmed.
EPFO also confirmed these issues in its latest circular. She said: “The cases have reached a notice where the cases were rejected or redefined, although the exempt pfs of PF trust do not contain any clear tape of contributing to EPS outside the wage ceiling.” Moreover, in other cases, the term “wages” was properly interpreted by expanding its scope beyond the definition contained in the chart. “There are even signs where the verification process has been converted to the investigation exercise to search for a justification for rejecting claims,” EPFO pointed out.
He also emphasized that the purpose of auditing in the application should be to ensure that the numbers based on the request letters are correct in an account and are compatible with the wages in which the contribution of PF and pensions has been transferred.
At all requests, EPFO received 17.49 to obtain a higher pension in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling. From this, 7.35 for unqualified issues and not modifying the rules by exempt institutions and PSUS.
