Hochul, New York lawmakers agree on charge for wearing mask while committing a crime

New York Governor Cathy Hochol, Democrat, announced a budget deal worth $ 254 billion on Monday, which includes an agreement with legislators in the state to add additional fees to people who wear masks while committing crimes.

The additional charge also applies to people who flee from the crime location.

Hochul wanted to create an additional penalty if someone covers his face with a threat or harassing a group of people, a proposal that was reduced before adding the draft law agreed to the state budget this week after fears of democratic lawmakers and civil freedom advocates.

While Hogul announced a budget deal on Monday, lawmakers still need to divide spending on some issues, including the financing formula for public and medical schools, according to Politico.
