Tesla and Elon Musk Sued by Shareholders Who Say Robotaxis Violate Traffic Laws

Tesla shareholders filed a lawsuit at the Federal Court on Monday against both EV and CEO Elon Musk, claiming that they issued “wrong and financially misleading data” about their robotics safety and organizational audit that comes with the launch of independent vehicles. Tesla launched the Robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, on June 22, but there is a human “safety screen” in the passenger seat, and geographic cars to a relatively small area in the city.
Despite the reserves received from Tesla, there were many videos that were published online from scary accidents with Robotaxis that operate incorrectly in Austin. The new lawsuit is cited with the Bloomberg article from June 23, entitled “Tesla Robotaxi videos showing speed, leading to a wrong lane”, to explain how it claims that robotox violates traffic laws from their first day at work.
The lawsuit is also cited in an article from June 23, entitled “Tesla Robotaxi, which derives the audit from the American Safety Agency”, on the National Road Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that connects to Tesla about videos on social media that show “accidents” that include road safety. The lawsuit indicates that Tesla’s shares fell on reports on issues in Austin with robotics.
The lawsuit also indicates a note about the Tesla profit call in April, where Musk said, “I and I with laser have focused on bringing Robotaxi to Austin in June.” This invitation was noticeable because it was after Tesla reported a 71 % decrease in profits, but musk remained a promise that the big things were coming.
Musk spent years at the promise that Tsls would be completely independent. In fact, there is a whole Wikipedia page for the failed MUSK predictions about when the so -called TESLA fully driving is allowed to drive people safely without any driver’s supervision. Musk is still promising that it will happen soon. In fact, it often claims to lead themselves, as on August 3 when he wrote, “Teslas can lead itself!”
The lawsuit was filed by POMERANTZ LLP in the American District Court, Western Province in Texas, called MORAND V. Tesla Inc. et al. Financial Director Vaibhav Taneja and Zachery Kirkhorn, who held the position of financial manager of Tesla until 2023, are also listed as defendants with Musk and Tesla. The shareholder claim claims that Taniga and Kirkorn “enriched themselves” by engaging in sales from the inside of the company’s shares while those shares were traded at artificially high prices. ” Taneja nor Kirkhorn did not immediately respond to the e -mail questions on Tuesday. The lawsuit seeks to obtain a collective condition.
Tesla was struggling with the decrease in sales this year, largely linked to Musk’s support for President Donald Trump, his role in destroying the vital parts of the US federal government, and these two Nazis ordered the greeting he gave the Nazi style style on January 20.
Robotaxi Tesla features the most ambitious Cybercab vehicle that Musk revealed in October 2024. While Cybercab is a concept of the two -seat car designed for this purpose and that lacks driving and pedals, Robotaxi (a general term in which Musk tried to own) is just a regular Tesla car that anyone can buy. Musk said that Cybercab will be available within 2-3 years, a claim that should be taken clearly with some doubts, given the somewhat optimistic billionaire tuberculosis tables.
According to what was reported, Tesla launched the Robotaxi service in San Francisco on July 31, although it is still unclear what is happening there. The California Public Utilities Committee told WIRE that Tesla claims that the initiative concerned was “taxi service for employees only for friends and the family of employees” as well as “chosen” members of the audience, but Musk is strongly suggested to X that everything they do in the Gulf region is much broader launch.
Tesla did not immediately answer the questions via e -mail on Tuesday. Gizmodo will update this post if we hear again, although the company canceled the public relations department in 2020, and it appears that obtaining any kind of response is unlikely. Musk is hostile to the media and prepares an automatic response after a short period of buying Twitter who has just answered with an emoji code tube on any journalist’s questions.
