House GOP demands security review of Chinese drone maker DJI Technologies

Republicans in the House of Representatives call on the office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) to accelerate the review of the National Security of Chinese Done Manufacturers such as the Chenty Da Jiang Company for Innovations and Technologies Ltd. (DJI Technologies) in accordance with the National Defense allocation law for 2025.

“Given the presence of the large market and the current use of equipment from DJI technologies, car robots, and related entities in the United States, the comprehensive and urgent review under Article 1709 is very important.”

“If these entities find unacceptable risks, we urge the immediate notification of the Federal Communications Committee to put these entities in a timely manner in the covered menu, for all legal guidelines.”

DJI is the largest manufacturer in the world of drones and sells more than half of all American commercial aircraft.

In October, DJI filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Defense to classify the drone maker as working with the Chinese army.

The company asked the American boycott judge in Washington to order that it is removed from the Pentagon list, which it offers as a “Chinese military company”, saying, “It is not owned and not controlled by the Chinese army.”

According to what was reported, the classification led to “lost commercial deals” with the company’s stigma as a national threat. DJI also prevented contracts with many federal government agencies.

The lawsuit said: “American agents and agents have ended the current contracts with DJI and they refused to enter into new contracts,” the lawsuit said.

American lawmakers have repeatedly raised fears that DJI drones constitute the transmission of data, monitoring and national security risks, which is rejected by the company.
