How much will the Tigers owe ACC if they leave?

Clemeson found a boom in its legal battle with the Administrative Coordination Committee on Tuesday after reaching an agreement with the conference. The tigers filed a lawsuit against the conference in March 2024, in the footsteps of Florida, which took this road in December 2023.

The agreement reached by ACC with tigers and Semenoles brings the dawn of the new revenue distribution model at the conference. It also leaves the door open for possible departure with a significant exit fee, which would have cost him earlier.

If the tigers choose to leave the Administrative Coordination Committee in 2026, the school will need to pay an exit fee of $ 165 million. This amount will decrease by $ 18 million every year, in the end it settles at 75 million dollars for the 2030-31 season. The item is the same for each other team in ACC.

“Today’s decision begins the next chapter of this floors league and enhances more executive as a major conference,” said ACC.

“While we look forward to our collective future in the long term, I want to express my deep appreciation for the Board of Directors of the Administrative Coordination Committee for its ongoing leadership, patience and dedication during this process.”

The collapse of ACC exit fees after the settlement:

2026 – 165 million dollars

2027 – 147 million dollars

2028 – 129 million dollars

2029 – 111 million dollars

2030 – 93 million dollars

2031 – 75 million dollars

Clemeson could have stayed in ACC despite the clear way out

Clemeson was looking for a path outside the Administrative Coordination Committee and decided to use legal means to move in granting the agreement to the rights in the league. However, the settlement means on Tuesday that the school can decide to leave the conference at any time if some conditions are met.

Nevertheless, the tigers may choose to stay at the conference within the next two years. The review of the revenue distribution model means that they now have a lot to gain financially from the league. The school talked strongly about the Administrative Coordination Committee after the settlement.

“The Administrative Coordination Committee is suitable for Clemson.”

“The historic football success achieved by the league and that Clemerson has achieved in the Administrative Coordination Committee and reaching the football match in the college currently – it is a wonderful homeland.”

In the new distribution form, 60 % of the total TV revenue in ACC will be allocated to the “brand initiative”, with a more focus on modern scenes data based on average rolling for a period of five years. The remaining 40 % will be distributed equally among all conference schools.
