How to beat Pazuzu (DQ2)
Pazuzu is one of the final DQ2 bosses in Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake, in relation to the main story. One of the primary lieutenants of the High Priest Hargon, he appears earlier in the game as a boss fight Pazuzu’s lair. While also fighting him again Rendarakthe battle is still almost the same either way. The difference is mainly in his health pool, but the strategy will remain the same.
At the end of the game, you’ll fight Pazuzu after Atlas in Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake, just one floor away. He doesn’t think much of your party, and while he’s a powerful villain, he’s not something a descendant of Erdric can’t defeat, that’s for sure.
Tips for defeating Pazuzu in Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake (DQ2)
Pazuzu is a test of your magical defenses in the DQ2 part of Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake. He rarely makes melee attacks, but he can, and they hit hard. Before entering this battle, I recommend giving every party member at least one He diesBecause they can absorb the death spell.

This is because of Pazuzu’s choice Hit multiple times during the boss fight of Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake. If you’re worried about that, you can also play on Dracky Quest difficulty, so these won’t work (with immunity turned on). Below, you’ll see everything Pazuzu is likely to use on you:
Pazuzu attacks in DQ2
- Smite Spell: An AOE spell, it can kill multiple party members.
- Kasizz Spell: All party members take 60 to 80 damage.
- Freezing Blizzard: A breath weapon that deals 40 to 100 damage.
- Fizzle Spell: Many party members may lose the ability to cast spells for a few turns.
- Snooze Spell: Can put multiple party members to sleep.
- Wild Side: Temporarily takes two actions for the price of one.
- Melee Attack: Can deal 100 to 120 damage.
As far as weaknesses go, he’s vulnerable to them Demon behavior and Brood cattle attacks. Using magic against him isn’t really that great, so I recommend sticking to a Maidenhall-focused strategy. We are going to use Gravity On the hero, Mobilizing powerand then Demon behavior, cattle prodor Multi-grip skills.
You definitely want to Magic barrier and insulator At all times too. Fortunately, Pazuzu has some very important weaknesses in the case of Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake. You can hit him with it Rib Tickle (Matilda) or Puff Paf (Hero/Peronel)and the odds are very good that they will succeed.
This way, you can keep him out of action for the vast majority of this fight. Just focus Matilda/Peronel on that, keep the reinforcements alive, and let the hero smash Pazuzu’s health. Here are the details of what each party member did for me:

- hero: The power of the crowd, the behavior of the devil/cattle prod
- Caradoc: Heals (mid/all), defense
- Matilda: Insulating, tickling rib, heals spot
- Pyronyl: Gravity, Magic Barrier, Breath, Healing
It’s not a particularly difficult enemy, all things considered. Having Peronel with the Double Hat will make your healing more effective in a pinch, but he doesn’t hit incredibly hard if you’re using boosts. Just make him hit the Rib Tickler and/or Puff Puff and he’ll be dead in no time.
