Living Through What Should Have Killed Him

The legend of the rocks died on July 22, a few weeks after his emotional farewell party, “Back to the Beginning”, which was held on July 5 in Villa Park in Birmingham, the same city where his journey began to the rocks.

From his early days with Black Sabbath through his individual career and upgrading the fame of reality TV, Ozzy’s life was characterized by excessive drinking, drug use, and repeated rehabilitation skills.

Often addiction problems are emerging headlines, which led to arrests, canceled tours and tense relationships, including with his wife, Sharon OsborneWho stood beside him through some of his darkest seasons. Their marriage is multiple crises, including the 1989 incident, where Ozi was arrested to try to attack during the influence.

Despite the chaos, Ozzy has never surrendered to sobriety. Rehabilitation has entered several times over the years and eventually began to open up about its progress and relapse publicly, which helped enhance addiction in the world of rocks.

Ozzy’s health struggles began to climb after a serious ATV accident in 2003, which, according to reports, was left with multiple injuries.

In 2019, Ozzy faced another large health setback when he was transferred to the hospital with pneumonia, forcing him to cancel a series of international tours dates, including stopping in Sydney, Melbourne, Restshore, Oakland and China.

The legend of the rocks was preparing to strike the theater again, but the doctors urged him to give priority to his health. His wife, Sharon Osborn, moved to social media at that time to share news with the fans, and wrote, “Ozi recently developed pneumonia and spent some time in the hospital. It is through the worst part. His doctors have advised to stay at home to recover for a full six weeks.”

Although the fans were understood understandablely disappointed, the flow of love and support was overwhelming, and correct to form, Ozzy promised that he would return as soon as he was able.

“You know what, Pelly, I continue the way I cannot walk and I cannot do this, but you know what I was thinking about during holidays?” Ozzy said in early 2025 during an episode of Siriusxm radio program, “Ozzy Speaks”. “Despite all my complaints, I am still alive.”
