Window management in macOS annoys me. This free app was the fix I needed

Apple approach to computing Mac is somewhat strange. The constant focus on simplicity, liquidity and elegance distinguishes it from windows. But at the same time, a lot of restriction can feel. Nothing embodies this better than apps app apps in MacOS.

It was developed by Pablo Varela, so that the application is not launched as a custom window of its own. Instead, it lives on a benefit in the menu bar, with a small decrease inhabited by a small group of basic controls.

What makes it special?

The slogan behind the rapid shift is clear and direct. “Never search for these small stocks again.” This is a reference to the small colored buttons in the upper left corner of the application window and the two -sided arrow that you see when the index hovers over the edges.

Instead, you can change the size of the application window or move it across the screen, directly from the place where the indicator is currently sits. What I discovered is that the quick shift is completely working with a laptop tracking panel, although this app is specifically designed for mouse controlled controls.

How to relieve window management?

Swift Shift follows a quarter approach to moving windows and changing their size. This means that the entire application window is an active fabric. All you have to do is just click and transfer the indicator anywhere you want.

To move around a window, you can simply hit the keyboard shortcut and move the index. This keyboard shortcut is customized, thank God, so that you can choose the most easy option to achieve maximum comfort.

I assigned it to the Command + option (⌘ + ⌥), where these two switches sit together. All I need to do is hit the keyboard shortcut, left the mouse (or tracking plate), and transfer it. This gesture allows the application window movement on the same screen or via external display panels as well.

Real magic occurs when you need to change the size of the windows. You no longer have to go with the MacOS control elements in advance, which are accessed by the costume on the small green button in the upper left corner. Or worse than that, try to seize the edges in order to seize the arrow to change its size.

Swift Shift allows you to set a separate keyboard shortcut to change its size. I chose Command + Control (⌘ + ⌃) to change size. You only need to click on the keyboard shortcut, click the left mouse on the mouse, and start moving it to adjust the window in relation to the corner closer to the indicator.

For example, if the indicator is closer to the lower right corner, the lower and Yemeni edges of the application window are used simultaneously to change the size of the application window. It is a free modification and has been implemented with smooth animation in the clouds.

Less number of controls, clear ambition

As mentioned above, all the tools and controls provided by the Swift Shift live in a small drop -down window by opening the application icon in the menu bar. You can also choose to hide it if things begin to appear on top.

For the sake of added flexibility, you can also adjust the shortcut behavior and allow it to focus only on the front window to operate the window movement and change the size.

Moreover, you can skip the mouse (or tracking plate) click and use only a set of keyboard shortcuts and an index movement to accomplish the task. In this way, you will not click or click on any element an active user interface in the application window.

Instead, you can switch things from the bottom of the usual left on the mouse to the right click. I love this studied flexibility. Not only because it relieves my workflow, but also because it treats personal ingenuity as well.
